This is a fine, antique (19th century) carved alabster statue of Lorenzo de Medici, Duke of Urbino (1492-1515), after the original by Michelangelo that decorates the tomb of the Duke in the new sacristy of San Lorenzo in Florence.  31 x 14 x 16 in; 79 x 36 x 41 cm.  Condition is good. There are partially restored cracks to the base as seen in our images, and surface grime, scratches, etc., all consistent with age. ( Roman neoclassical classical sculpture )
