A good quality French mantel clock. A gilded bronze case surmounted by a female figure under a palm tree. Finely cast feet with open fretwork, A winged cherub to the frieze. An engine turned silvered dial with 'moon' blued steel hands. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell with silk suspension. Signed to the mechanism 'Dupont a Paris' who worked at Rue St Martin from 1850-1860.
