Extraordinary blue and white oval pottery bowl profusely decorated inside and out with exotic scenes of Egypt including palm trees, camels and ancient buildings. It is marked on the underside with a blue castle and the text: Maling, Newcastle-on-Tyne, England, a Maling mark used since the 1920's. Probably made during the Egyptian revival period that followed the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun in 1922. In very good used condition with age crazing and hairlines to underside as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number. Measurements: 8" long by 6" wide by 3 3/8" tall (20.3 cm by 15.2 cm by 8.6 cm) approximately. Item ID: 1663
