Here is a very hard to find small sized sideboard or server from the Empire period with unusual detailing. Notice the stepped up or 2 tiered gallery with a gently curved shelf and delicately executed curled side supports. The serving height of the sideboard measures 42”. There are 2 hand dovetailed drawers having their original locks and flame mahogany fronts. Notice the carved inset Gothic pattern on either side of the drawers, atop fully turned columns with deeply carved Corinthian capitals. Even the columns display flame mahogany graining. Notice the recessed long drawer above 2 paneled doors and a middle drawer with flame mahogany fronts. The middle drawer retains its original 6 dividers which were originally designed to hold bottles. The lower 2 doors and drawer are missing their locks. Amazingly, all the drawers and doors have their original brass pulls. The server rests on tall, boldly turned legs. The finish is in excellent condition, having a rich color and patina.
