This handsome custom mahogany 4 drawer Chippendale chest of drawers has wonderful detailing. The top has a moulded edge. Notice the lovely stepped out block front shape on the front of the dresser - an uncommon design due to its complexity and skill in executing. The top drawer has 3 fan shaped carvings; 2 are in high relief and the one in the center is inset carved. The remaining 3 drawers have their original fancy brass Chippendale style pulls. The moulded base rests on 4 boldly carved ball with claw feet. The finish appears original and is in excellent condition having a desirable color and patina. Due to its size, this chest could serve as a variety of purposes, such as a server in a dining room, storing linens and a large lamp stand, etc.
