This 6 piece stacking or Barrister bookcase was made by the Gunn Manufacturing Co. The set consists of a cap, 4 separate stacks and a base. Two stacks will accommodate books up to 9” tall, one stack up to 11” tall and the 4th stack up to 13” tall. Each stack has a glass front which opens up and slides back for easy access. All have their original cast brass pulls and open and close smoothly. Such bookcases were originally designed for lawyers or barristers as they were originally called, to store their law reference books. The finish is original and in very good to excellent condition.
