English crumpet or pikelet serving dish. Comprising base, pierced insert and lid with integral handle. Made by Doulton of Burslem, England in the "Madras" Pattern. Blue and White. c1900. Slight discoloration to base due to age also one crack to lip of base (pictured) Perfectly usable and very hard to find. In the north of England Pikelets and Crumpets are served with afternoon tea. 4.1/4" high when assembled. 9.1/4" across. May also be used as a butter dish-which it is not! Sold as is.
