Madonna and Infant Head Vase Pierced Halo

This beautiful head vase shows a serene blond madonna holding a chubby blond wide eye baby Jesus. The quality of the porcelain gives the piece a soft glow like appearance. Her head cover and baby blanket are blue. Highlights of gold appear on the dress and the halo. The halo is unusual in that it is three dimensional over her head kind of like a hat. It has eight pierced openings with a raised gold beading around the underside rim. The bottom has the Hand Painted Shafford marking in gold. The condition is very good with no damage to report. The inside is clean and does not appear to have been used as a planter. This unusual piece would be a great addition to a head vase collection or wonderful for a collector of Madonna's.
