A unique Japanese pottery vase, ca. 1930's. This is a highly unusual piece that pairs the styles of Art Deco with traditional Japanese pottery design. It was most likely produced in Awaji. It has an ovoid shape with a black base and textured surface. The center of the body is decorated with geometric and traditional figural designs to resemble a face. The treatments are in shades of yellow, teal, red, and gold. It is impressed "Made in Japan" on the bottom. Shipping quoted upon sale.
