Three branch brass guard of typical form (small bend); original leather wrap (minor losses) with twisted brass wire. Imported German single-edged 35 1/4" blade with double fullers; knight’s head (Kirschbaum) stamped on ricasso. Blade with numerous shallow edge nicks and a protective applied varnish. Steel scabbard with double carrying rings; several shallow dents on the lower half. Condition typical of a field-used cavalry saber.
