Lufkin No. 199 Universal Test Indicator w/ Box

Unavailable

This is a very nice clean vintage universal precision test indicator marked "LUFKIN NO. 199" on the indicator, and include a few accessories with it, and a nice little wood box to store it in. The indicator is in good used, working condition with .001" graduations, and has the zero to the extreme left (Lufkin also offer another similar indicator with the zero centered). With either style, the used can get a reading with both down pressure and up pressure on the needle tip. The tip can also be moved in various positions in relationship to the body of the indicator, then a reading can be taken from that set position of the tip. The indicator has been tested and repeats just fine. There were several companies that offered a similar style test indicator in the 1920's to 50's era, but we still see the Lufkin as being unique, with it's streamlined rust resistant body. This indicator is in very good shape with just a few tiny scratches noted, a good interchangeable tip also. The wood box is in solid condition there is no label, and was most likely not originally a box for this tool, but it's solid with good brass hinges and latch. We still have users that prefer this unique style indicator, as they are rugged, no plastic to break. A very nice old style indicator!
