Are you old enough to remember the great craze for these dishes back in the early 1960s? They were a plastic dish with slightly conical centre - you twirled them on top of a rod of wood. (Taken from acrobats using real plates to spin on sticks). The wood was just a piece of dowling about 60 cm long with a pointed top, so you can make your own. The trick is to get the disc spinning and keep it there. The directions are on the reverse of the disc. This is an original Toltoys Twirler - "The Original Spinning Plate". Stamped "Alex Tolmer & Assoc. Pty Ltd, Melbourne. It is blue soft plastic with glitter. It measures 23 cm diameter (just over 9 inches). It has a couple of splits, but none through the outer band, so a genuine original and still usable.
