L.S. Starrett Inside Caliper Firm Joint Pre-1909 No. 35
This is a very hard to find, late 1800's era inside caliper marked "L.S. STARRETT ATHOL MASS. PAT. APL'D FOR". It is the 6" size, about 6.35" long overall. This caliper is in fine shape, with very clean measuring tips, very good joint, adjustment nut and threads, no rust, or damage, very nice polished finish with only minor discoloration noted. We note two initials (H.T.) on the adjustable firm joint nut, neatly stamped. In 1909 L.S. STARRETT CO. was change to "THE L.S. STARRETT CO.". This is clearly stated in most all the Starrett catalogs from 1909 to the 1940's era. We also note that the name change was applied in 1909 to the way all Starrett tools were marked. This tool, was made before the 1909 name change. These old Starrett calipers are nearly impossible to find from this era, and in this fine of condition!
