Louis XVI Style Carved Wooden Mirror

Unavailable

This wonderful mirror in the French Louis XVI style features extensive hand-carved wooden decoration in high relief. There is no use of gesso and the entire piece is crafted from carved wood. A large urn and leafy scrolls decorate the crestrail, and a Greek key motif decorates each corner. The entire perimeter of the mirror features a grapevine motif. It measures 54.5" by 31" by 2", and the glass measures 36.5" by 23". We estimate it dates from the early twentieth century. It is in fabulous condition, with no visible repairs and no damages. Additional images gladly forwarded upon request. This item resides in our client's gallery in Westchester County NY, and may be seen in person by appointment.
