PHILLIPS BROMYARD Circa 1780
A small Worcestershire 'cottage' longcase clock. An oak case with choice grain. Brass capped hood columns with satinwood banding to the hood pediment. A shaped trunk door top. A well engraved brass and silvered dial with date aperture and seconds dial. An 8 day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.
The Phillips family of clockmakers are recorded as working in the Ludlow area, this is likely to be one of the members.
