SAMUEL COLLIER, CHEADLE Circa 1835
An impressive Cheshire mahogany longcase clock with a swan-neck hood pediment. Fluted hood columns and surmounted by 3 brass finials. Fine satinwood case inlays and triple arched trunk door. A painted dial with date and lunar moon-phases. Gilt and floral corners. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.
Samuel Collier of Cheadle is recorded in Appleby's 'Clockmakers of Cheshire' book as working from 1828-1857.
