Absolutely beautiful fine quality linen sachet with embroidered flap. White on white embroidery of flowers and swags. Eyelet holes to thread broad ribbon through - imagine how pretty this would look. Sachets like this were used to hold underwear when travelling, or to keep stockings in the drawer. .Possibly Edwardian period, but certainly early half of 20th century. Measures 45. 5 cm by 38 cm closed (18 inches by 15 inches). Excellent condition. We also have a small supper cloth by the same hand elsewhere in this category.
