This fine bronze with black patina by Aldreo Pina (1883-1966) , entitled La toilette du bébé, carries the mark of the Valsuani foundry and measures 17 by 14 by 9 inches. Signed in the cast with "MARCEI" scratched into the base.

Pina attended the Accademia di Brera in Milan, where he was born.  He moved to Paris around 1906 and in 1909-1910 worked in the studio of Auguste Rodin, who is thought to have greatly influenced Pina's powerful style.
