A quality oil painting on panel by the 19th century painter of Belgian genre, Leon Marie Constant Dansaert. He was born in Brussels in 1830 and was a pupil of Edward Frere. Dansaert lived in Ecouen in 1882, where many other artists of the period lived and painted. His works were often on panel, painted in a precise and meticulous style. Examples of his work are exhibited in museums at Bagneres, Bayonne, Brussels, London, Perigueux and Sheffield.
