This cleverly designed table is referred to as an apartment dining table due to the fact that it has 3 leaves and can expand to 6 feet, 9 inches long. The shapely top has its original tooled leather top. Notice the delicately inlaid classical urn center panel flanked by dramatic flame mahogany panels framed with inlaid birds eye maple. The lovely curvaceous legs have elaborately carved knees and feet with acanthus leaves. To transform this side table into a game or dining table, you pull the two back legs out as far as needed. The top flips over and allows insertion of up to 3 leaves, each measuring 13" wide. Another wonderful feature are the two hidden legs, which can drop down to provide additional support as needed. What a wonderful, versatile piece of furniture. It is perfect as a primary dining table if you do not have a separate dining room or as a secondary table during those large family gatherings. The finish is in excellent condition having a deep, rich color and warm patina.
