Victorian Morocco leather folding portrait holder for two photos. First holder is occupied by a Victorian monochrome sepia photo of a young woman, done on either white porcelain or milk glass. Under magnification you would think this was a hand-drawn portrait, not a photo. But, the cover of the folder is stamped "James Mudd. 10 St. Anns Square, Manchester." and James Mudd was one of Manchester's most important Victorian photogrpahers. Pretty frame to the photo. The other side of the folder is blank, so room for a photo there. Gold-tooled leather. Wear and an old repair to the spine of the opening leaf. Folded up, the case measures 18 mm thick by 97 mm by 88 mm (3/4 inch by 3.3/4 inches by 3.1/2 inches).
