Christopher Dresser often designed for William Ault, and the Staffordshire pottery existed between 1887 and 1903, after which it became Ault & Tunnicliffe. This vase has a terracotta coloured glaze, is very Arts and Crafts in style , and decorated with stylised handpainted scene of windmill and river. Early 20th century. Measures 26.5 cm high and about 14.5 cm diameter (10.1/2 inches by 5.3/4 inches). Excellent condition and a rare item.
