Large Antique Pocket watch - Mens jewelry - hallmarked ornate design - Vintage Anniversary gift
This large open front pocketwatch is really detailed. Definitely a keepsake you can pass onto to loved ones.
On the inner lid are seven symbols and underneath is 'Marche Garantie' On the inside of the exterior lid is printed Metalor Var Depose.
In 1852, Société Martin de Pury & Co was established in Le Locle, Switzerland, in the Canton of Neuchâtel; a company, specialized in melting of gold and manufacture of watch cases. (See Metalor, Notre histoire) Metalor = Metal Or. It is a highly technological material, solid gold look.
Surprisingly the watch runs well... It has kept time for a few days now. I have not opened the back so I can't tell you much more about it except it is very old.
