Large antique Byzantine silver cross Enkolpion circa 12th -15th century A.D. made from two halves secured at the top with a hinge, and a suspension loop above, engraved with The Virgin Orans flanked on the two lateral arms by busts of saints, inscribed in Greek on both sides. The other side engraved with stylized cross, bordered with bands of twisted silver wire and beads.

MEASUREMENTS: Overall length: 8.5 cm (3 3/8 in).Width: 5 cm (2 in).

WEIGHT: 67 grams (2 3/8 oz).

CONDITION: In its original condition showing the age and usage, slightly bent, worn with minute scratches.
