This is a wonderful antique knife rest I brought home from England recently. The EPNS silver plated knife rest has triangular figural ends in the form of the symbol of the Isle Of man, three booted feet with spurs and measure 2 inches high by 3.5 inches long by 2 inches wide and were made in England 1890-1910. The knife rest has an illegible maker's mark, EPNS and the number 1910. The knife rest ends are going in the opposite direction. The rest came as a pair but I then noticed one rest has both ends going in the same direction and this, in opposite directions so I have listed them separately. Knife rests were a neat victorian gadget to keep your tablecloth clean by holding up your knife. This knife rest is in excellent, mint condition. Lovely!
