Rather Art Deco in style, these wooden kitchen storage boxes (Coffee, Tea, Sugar and Flour) are made in strips of wood (possibly bamboo) inlaid in patterns to form colour contrast and the names of the items. Largest measures 16.5 cm high and 13.5 cm square (6.1/2 inches by 5.1/4 inches) and the smallest is 10.25 cm high and 8 cm square (4 inches by 3inches square). Inside they are lined with black textured coated paper or card. Fabric hinge. They all fit inside each other like babushkas. Condition is very good - the largest (being the outside box when they are stacked) has some slightly damaged strips and some fading. It also has the loosest hinge. There are some little dots on the tops of some - these scrape off with you finger nail - I think they may be dried wax. Interesting set, very attractive.
