The Kirk Repousse pattern (1828 - this set was made in the 1870's) tea set has an Indian finial on the tea pot ; and indian maiden as the handle of the creamer -. It was made for the Wadsworth family of Geneseo NY, on the Genesee river banks. The story goes that back -- way back -- a grandmother, owner of the set at the time, needed a contribution to the church sale and grabbed these pieces in a hurry , thus the waste bowl came along , not the sugar bowl , It must have been at one time an extensive set .
