A little bit of background info: Born in Wisconsin, raised in the hustle and bustle of Southern California and now residing in Lorane, a small town nestled between the mountain and coastal ranges of Western Oregon, Karen Pidgeon of Wildlife Art creates a world, that generations from now may not exist. After studying a variety of mediums that included jewelry making, metal sculpture, and wood sculpture, Karen studied at the La Jolla Museum of Art and under the private instruction of Loise Pollet. It was here that she foumd her niche in drawing and painting. Using a mixed media of gouache, acrylics, pastels, prismacolor, and inks, Karen then combined her extraordinary talent with her love of nature.
