Affixed to the original mat. Signed and dated recto on the original overmat. Wet stamped verso: 'Jos̢e Alemany/5307 Beller St./Pittsburgh, PA.' Title also written in pencil, verso; various notations verso. Jos̢e Alemany was a Pittsburgh salon photographer with connections to the Spanish leftists in the 1930s. He photographed many key artists of the day, although his own salon images were often surrealistic and experimental, many made during his summers spent in Provincetown, MA.
THIS PRINT WAS EXHIBITED IN THE JOSE ALEMANY RETROSPECTIVE AT THE FUNDACION 'LA CAIXA', MADRID, 2004. THE IMAGE APPEARS IN THE EXHBITION CATALOGUE AND IS ACCOMPANIED BY THE MUSEUM'S EXHIBITION LABEL.
