Future Hall of Famer John "Buck" O'Neil Autographed Negro League Baseball. Officially licensed MLB Negro Leagues baseball is signed, numbered and assembled in a display accompanied by a photograph of "Buck" during the 1995 signing. Includes a Certificate of Authenticity. Born: November 13, 1911 Carrabelle, Florida A graduate of Edward Waters College in 1930, O'Neil toured with the Miami Giants, New York Tigers, Shreveport Giants, and the Memphis Red Sox. In 1938 he joined the renowned Kansas City Monarchs. From 1948 to 1955 O'Neil managed the Monarchs, and made history in 1962 when hired by the Chicago Cubs, becoming the first black coach to serve in the Major Leagues.
