19 ¼" x 15 ½" gelatin silver print, matted and framed, personally endorsed by Greene on the mat recto, stamped, signed and dated 1980 on the verso. [the photograph was made in the 1950's])
Durante was of course the great comedian and singer. Milton Greene is best known for his important and popular portraits of Marilyn Monroe.
This is an interesting portrait of Durante; he is distinctly recognizable with his back turned. Greene has also chosen to include the lighting apparatus as a significant part of the photograph.
There is a slight bump that one can see at a raking angle. Includes a Christie's auction stamp on verso
