$365.00
Quantity available: 1
Here is "Portia" by the J.G & J.F.Low Art Tile Works, Chelsea, MA from the series of six Shakespeare tiles that they did. Portia is the heroine of Shakespeare's "A Merchant of Venice" and the tile contains part of one of her most famous lines from the play, "The quality of mercy is not strain'd. It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven Upon the place beneath. It is twice blest: It blesseth him that gives and him that takes." The tile is carved in relief and finished in a spectacular deep turquoise majolica glaze which pools in the lower recesses of the tile; it is in excellent condition except for a tiny lower right corner nick. Fine, glossy surface. Please write with any questions you may have.
