One of the many books from the Estate of Francis P. Fretwell that Dogtreasures.com will be selling. The library is the largest privately owned collection of dog books in the world. Mr. Fretwell was the owner of Monfret Kennels, which bred champion standard poodles. He was former president and governor of the Poodle Club of America, and the Italian Greyhound Club of America. He also served as a delegate to the American Kennel Club for decades. His wonderful collection of books has been carefully maintained. *** Jeeps - A Dog for Defense. By Sylvestre C. Watkins. An Airedale joins the Army K-9 Corps and becomes a hero in the Pacific war zone. Juvenile fiction ages 8-12. Dust jacket has some edge wear, including rubbed edges and small losses at tips and spine head. Boards have some light edge wear. Mr. Fretwell's bookplate on front fixed endpaper. Interior with very light foxing. VG+.
