Heavy metal - probably silver-plated antimony. Very attractive design of acanthus scrolls. Somewhat Deco shape, would date from 1920s-30s. Inside has rounded bottom, as it was originally a cigarette box. Would make a great trinket box today. Underneath is an original paper label from Ishizuka T.S. Inc, Osaka, Japan. Condition is very good - there is some loss to lacquer over the plate inside, giving it a slightly patchy look - nothing serious though. Externally excellent. Measures 4 cm high, and 12.5 cm by 9 cm (1.1/2 inches high by 5 inches by 3.1/2 inches).
