French artist Jacques Roger Simon, 1875-1965, his works have sold for up to $2,650 for aquarelles similar in size. Listed in both Benezit and Akoun. He began exposing his work at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris in 1900. He received the gold medal in 1928, and a silver medal in 1937 at the International Exposition. He was made a Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur in 1928. This small format panting in watercolor shows a butcher serving a female client in costumes from the 1940's. Art dimension: 6.25'w x 8.75'h, overall 14'w x 16.5'h. The frame is wood with gold leaf and a green cove, cream mat. Excellent condition, artist signed. Our art offerings are not production pieces.
