This mounted, lithographic panel by Piero Fornasetti (1913- 1988) is entitled "Paggio" (valet), and is believed to be a one-of- a-kind piece which dates from the 1950s. It measures an impressive 84" tall and is in good condition. It is a lithographic print with hand-painting on paperboard over masonite, with a black wooden frame attached to the rear. Purchased at auction. There are small nail holes along left side from top to bottom, one inch from the edge. Small nail holes on the right side in a 12"" area in the area of the column, in the upper quadrant. Some flaking to clear overcoat in dark areas. One scratch neer feet. There are surface stains above left shoulder. Some light surface abrasions throughout. Lower left corner is chipped; slight bend and wear to upper left corner. Roughness to extreme corner edges. Wood frame glued to back and panel is lifting slightly from this frame. Color is strong and does not appear to be faded. There is a wooden patch to the rear in the lower right corner (lower left corner as seen from front) measuring 14" from the side edge and 18" from the bottom edge.
