Extremely rare Irish George III fiddle handle tea caddy spoon. Irish silver of the period relied primarily upon English designs, but is much rarer--especially pieces intended for the consumption of early 19th century luxury foods like tea. The front of the handle is engraved with a period monogrammed "R" and the back is fully hallmarked for Dublin, 1827-28. The maker's mark is "IB". Origin: Ireland, 1827-28. Condition: a small ding in the bowl visible in raking light. Size: 3-11/16". Weight: 12.25 grams.
