INCREDIBLE GEORGIAN SAPPHIRE PEARL GOLD SILVER BROOCH

Unavailable
This is a truly outstanding Georgian pearl and sapphire stomacher, c. 1820. The pin has elaborate grape leaves of gold plated with silver and inlaid with sapphires. The bottom of the piece is set with pearls to form a faux grape pattern. Stomachers were worn on the bodice just below the breast and went from a modest size to opulent pieces trailing wide and long down the entire front of a gown. Stunning 3" in height and in excellent condition missing 3 small sapphires and more pearls could be added. Cica 1820 and a true delight for use or for any collection. Very very unusual piece!
