Important Louis XV Giltwood and Polychromed Wall Clock, Circa 1760; the lyre shaped case with an arched top and urn shaped finial over branches of leaves; the single door features a garland of leaves surrounding the clock face; the sides with four leaves sweeping along the bottom half. The later works with a face of gilt bronze and white and blue enamels; the mechanism consists of two parts: the strike run by a main spring, and the time powered by the weight activating a dead beat escapement. Provenance: Garrick C. Stephenson, NYC 1975.
