Check out this enormous, beautifully carved Asian soapstone vase. Its size, quality of carving and rich colors makes it exceptional. The stone has shades of pale gold, grey black with rich browns and rust colors. Near the base, there is a delicately carved bird resting on a branch. Above is a garland of flowers with intricately carved petals, leaves and stems. The flowers are life like and seam to jump off the front of the vase. Notice how the sides and base of the vase are pierced carved in a manner which enhances its naturalistic and organic style. The condition of the vase is excellent. There appears to be no loss, damage or repairs. Due to its size, it is quite heavy. What a dramatic piece of Asian carved art!
