This is a vintage souvenir horse brass or pub brass featuring the design of a pirate and the name Jamaica Inn which was a famous pirate and smuggling inn in Cornwall made famous in the 1930s by the novel of the same name by Daphne DuMaurier. I brought it back from England. The horse brass dates 1930-1940s and 3.5 inches high by 3 inches wide. Horse brasses were developed in the 17th century to decorate and identify draft horses and are very collectible. In England you see them decorating the beams in pubs or hung by the fireplace in homes.
