Hoosier Oak Cabinet

Take home a piece of America's past with this impressive Hoosier Oak Cabinet, circa 1910. Hoosier cabinets came into being at a time when houses lacked built-in cabinets; so the innovative Hoosier Manufacturing Company adapted the baker's cabinet and created a well-organized, compact cabinet that added both storage and working space. Through the years there were several companies that imitated the Hoosier cabinet that the term for any of these type cabinets were generically referred to as Hoosiers, however this one is the real deal.

Constructed out of oak, our Hoosier cabinet has a lift up door above the flour bin, with a patent date of Feb 8 1910 on the front side of the flour bin, above the flour sifter. Both of the original top door catches have the the inscription, Hoosier Feb 22 1910. The cupboard space to the right of the flour bin door has the original wooden shelf, so there is plenty of storage for canned goods, jam, vitamins, or other kitchen incidentals. The mid double doors open to reveal the sifter and a small wooden shelf to its right. The original aluminum pull-out work surface appears below and has the original "Caution!" label that states "Examine bottom of upper section before setting it upon this base to see that no tacks or nails are left so as to damage this aluminum". The cupboard space below boasts the original pull-out wooden drawer to the left, with two drawers and a metal lined bread drawer to its right. So what more can one ask for! The Hoosier Oak Cabinet is in the original finish and measures, 69.50 inches H X 40.00 inches W X 28.00 inches D, without the pull-out work surface extend.
