Holt Ratchet Brace Unique Rare!

Unavailable
This is a unique, and rare patented 10" swing ratchet brace marked "THE HOLT MFG. CO. HARTFORD CONN. PAT. FEB.16.92" on the chuck sleeve. It is also marked "NO. 10" on one swing arm. One of the more unique features on this 1890's patent is the ratchet system that offers about twice the amount of ratchet click positions as any other brace from this era! A very fine movement of the ratchet, works very smoothly, very nicely design and machined! The crank handle has brass sleeves at each end that helps it turn smoother and less possiblity of wear. The end handle is very nice, the flange is double bushing design for very smooth and snug operation. The chuck is a heavy duty spring loaded two jaw chuck with a sleeve adjustment. Overall in very good working condition, no rust or damage, one minor ding in the knurled sleeve, otherwise some minor pitting noted, very clean and ready to use condition. The brace is about 14.5" long with a 10" sweep.
