APPRAISAL = $7,000 to $7,500 (10 to 15 Years Ago). This is a limited edition of 100 individually numbered pairs. They have engraved 14 carat solid gold mounts. The side plate and cock are intricately engraved and inlaid with gold wire, sold gold barrel bands, butt cap, trigger guard, sight, thumb plate, side plate, barrel wedge plates, stock tip and flash plate. Two solid gold eyes are inset on top of the cock. Accessories include gold-tooled antique leather bound book case, Nipple Wrench: ebony handled steel with gold plated ferrule, Bullet Mold: hand forged steel, Ramrod: steel shaft with brass tip and gold plated brass head, Flash: sterling silver body and solid brass head, Screwdriver: ebony handled steel with gold plated ferrule, Round Balls: five cast lead .41 caliber. There are loading and firing instructions and a 1994 estimate from the United States Historical Society gives this set a fair market value between $7,000 and $7,500. These were manufactured in 1978 and have been sold out for about 20 years. Pistols marked G98A and G98B.
