James W Gallagher guides the four bladed tool and Ray Cull handles the horse. One pictures of James H Gallagher handling large chisel, and William Schmidt and Jimmy Floyd begin harvest. Each cake weighs about 300 pounds. Job begins when village fathers decide ice is thick enough to be cut. The entire operation normally requires three days of harvest before the house is full.
