Harvard Half Hatchet Mid-1900's
This is a quality made 13.5" long half hatchet marked "HARVARD" in a script type writing stamp on the head. The blade has a nice sharp, 3.5" wide cutting edge. The hammer end is very good with only minor wear noted, with a nice tapered eight sided stem. The handle appears to be a newer replacement, in very good condition with the steel type wedge, one small chipped off area on the hand grip end (minor). The handle is nice, not cracked, nice finish. Overall condition is very good, with minor wear, some minor staining, dings and scratches. We note some dings and scratches, just minor, from general use. A quality, very nice used hatchet, with a maker's name we have not seen before on a hatchet, we do know that this same mark (brand name) appears on some saw set pliers we have sold in the past. We are not sure were this tool was manufactured, but know it holds an edge quite well.
