This neoclassical dore bronze statue by Hans Keck (German, active 1890-1910s) depicts the Roman Minerva, holding a shield and sceptre, and standing on a blue stone mosaic on top of a stepped marble pedestal. Minerva (from the Greek Athena) was the goddess of warriors, poetry, medicine, wisdom, commerce, and inventor of music. It measures 17.5" tall and is signed in the cast "H Keck"
