Hames Antique Farm Equipment

Unavailable
My grandpa’s farm was on the outskirts of a small Ohio farming town. In 1922 this wooden harness was used daily for the horses and donkeys . I inherited this piece from my grandpa and now I would like to share it with you. Hames: Two J-shaped metal or wooden strips containing riveted rings to which the tugs (traces) and the rest of the harness are attached. The two hames buckle together by short straps at the top and bottom to snugly fit a horses collar. The Hames take the full force of the pull of the wagon.
