Beautiful hand painted scenic porcelain serving dish.
This deep, oval platter features a gorgeous painted scene of storks in a lake with young trees. The birds are separated by a tall growth of reeds. There are houses in the near background, purple trees and low mountains farther back. The decoration was carried out with vibrant color and meticulous skill.
The plate's wide rim is deep cobalt blue with Japanese style branches and blossoms in gold. The rim is outlined with two gold bands.
UNMARKED. The painting and porcelain are unsigned. The platter may possibly be German.
Circa late 19th C to early 20th C.
MEASURES 18-1/2 x 12-1/4 inches x 2-1/4 deep.
Very Good to Excellent condition. No chips, cracks, scratches or knife marks found. As expected there is some gold wear.
