This is an exceptional figural landscape oil on canvas by the Hungarian painter, Gyula Zorkoczy (1873-1932). Stretcher measures 27 1/2 by 19 7/8 and frame measures 31 by 23 by 2 1/4 inches. Depicted is a woman in a shallow rocky stream. Zorkoczy was born in Nagyroce and studied under Bertalan Szekely at the School of Model Drawing where he obtained a diploma in art instruction. He exhibited at the National Salon beginning in 1907. He is well known for his realistic and brightly colored figural landscapes. Listed in the Benezit.
